Behind the scenes: Marketing stories you can listen to At the Frankfurt Book Fair, we met Friederike, Head of Marketing at @argon hörbuch Verlag. With her team, she brings audiobooks to life — combining creativity, strategy, and a deep love for storytelling.  We talked to her about her path into the world of publishing, the highlights that have stayed with her, and what exciting projects await in the coming year. Who are you? I’m Friederike Schönherr, Head of Marketing at argon. Together with my team of four, I take care of everything related to audiobook marketing. How did you join the company? I joined argon about three and a half years ago, after spending many years in marketing. I’m a publishing person through and through – but argon is my first step into the world of audiobooks, offering a completely new perspective. What was your highlight last year? Definitely the Angela Merkel audiobook – a fantastic collaboration with Hazel Brugger and our “book siblings” from Kiwi. It showed how valuable close cooperation and synergy across publishing houses can be. What’s your highlight for the coming year? We’re looking forward to the new Simon Beckett release and are planning special marketing activities – including our first Out-of-Home campaign.
