What do seatbelts have to do with corporate innovation, especially in an age of AI? In the first edition of Holtzbrinck On, our new insights series, Katharina Neubert, Managing Director of the @Holtzbrinck AI Hub, examines why corporate innovation so often stalls, even when progress seems obvious, and what it takes to build for the future while keeping the core business strong. The series features leadership perspectives from across Holtzbrinck's companies, grounded in experinece and informed by the questions leaders are actively confronting. A remarkable legacy and a new chapter at Holtzbrinck For many years, Rainer has shaped @DIE ZEIT with vision, integrity and a deep commitment to independent journalism, influencing colleagues, readers and the broader media landscape alike. We are looking forward to continue working with him in his new role and to build on the experience, clarity and curiosity he brings to every conversation. And with a little delay, happy belated birthday, Rainer 🎉 #HoltzbrinckTogether #Leadership
What happens when ideas meet practice? Over three days in Munich, colleagues from Holtzbrinck explored how AI can create real value in our daily work through practical, business-driven use cases. Fresh ideas, focused discussions and shared insights are a strong driver to further integrate AI to support our functions. A big thank you to the team from University of St Gallen for leading us through these conversations.
Yesterday, we welcomed global media leaders to our AI Hub in San Francisco, led by our colleague Katharina as part of the WAN-IFRA AI Study Tour. The group came together to discuss how to stay ahead in times of rapid change, and how to future-proof media businesses. It was particularly great to have the @Digital Science leadership and our colleagues from @Macmillan Learning in the room. While AI might look different in a lab or a classroom than it does in a newsroom, we’re all navigating the same shifts. To everyone who joined us: thank you for all your questions and insights. It’s much easier to find your way through a fog when you’re walking with people who aren’t afraid to ask for directions. #HoltzbrinckTogether #AIHub #WANIFRA
